Open Call

Applications are now being accepted from NoE, RISE1 and Associate Members for Open Collaborative Calls on a Small Scale. Young researchers will gain experience in finding a collaborative partner, developing an idea for an independent project, writing a proposal, and planning a budget. Applicants should be PhD students or Postdocs, at least two labs must be involved and one of them must be a member of the EpiGeneSys Network of Excellence. A panel of reviewers from the network will award at least 1 applicant up to 10,000€ of funding for their collaborative project. This is a great opportunity for budding scientists to try their hand at getting funding for their own mini-project. The call is open from now until Nov 26th of 2012.

EpiGeneSys NoE grows to add 42 more labs!

Eleven promising young teams were selected through the competitive RISE1 Open Call 2012 to further strengthen the research programme of EpiGeneSys. The successful applicants were chosen following a two-step evaluation procedure and will formally join the network as of October 1st. Find out about the new EpiGeneSys members by clicking here.

EpiGeneSys also invited scientists all over Europe to apply for associate membership. By vote of the General Assembly, the following labs will join us in our goal of making EpiGeneSys the leading network for epigenetic and systems biology research.

We received many excellent applications for the RISE1 call, however, due to funding limitations we were unable to accept everyone. The EpiGeneSys Governing Board therefore extended a special invitation to teams we feel will make valuable contributions to building a bridge between epigenetics and systems biology. Save the date for the Annual Meeting

amsterdam canal to be held January 16th-18th in Amsterdam. Registration will be open from the 1st - 30th of November and will be handled on a first-come first-served basis. We anticipate that space will book up fast (we're over 100 member labs!) so please remember to register early.

The Student/Postdoc Workshop on Epigenetics and the Environment

will be held from Oct 9-10th in Munich. We hope it will be a big a success!
