Biostatistics/Bioinformatics is available in our laboratory. The project consists in the characterization of genetic and epigenetic features of metazoan DNA replication origins by genome-wide analyses.

Subject
The candidate will analyse ChIP-on-chip and ChIP-seq data from the experiments concerning the identification of genome-wide replication origins in metazoans, a project included in the Epigenesys network. Replication origins from C. Elegans to Human cells are analysed.

Location
The Institute of Human Genetics is a well-known CNRS Institute located in Montpellier (http://www.igh.cnrs.fr), one of the most lively and concentrated areas for research scientists in France. More than 200 scientists from different countries work on subjects covering Molecular and Cellular Biology, Epigenetics, Development and Human Genetics.

Qualifications

The applicant should:
have basic knowledge in biology
have a strong background in programming and statistics
be expert in at least one programming language (C, Perl, Java …)
develop new methods for the specific aim of the projects, in particular to take into account the specifies of ChIP-on-chip and ChIP-seq data.
use coherent statistical and computing tools adapted to genome-wide experiments.

Experience in the statistical environment R is required. The knowledge of Bioconductor libraries and background in the analyses of genome-wide data will be appreciated.

To achieve these tasks, the candidate will collaborate in an
inter-disciplinary context.

Salary

The contract is for 12 months, starting as soon as January 2013. Salary is between 2 270 to 2600 euros monthly before taxes deduction, depending on experience.
