The effect of PDF copy resolution
In Adobe Acrobat, when using the "snapshot" tool under the "tools" menu, be sure that you have zoomed in adequately to capture the needed resolution for the ppt slide. It's possible to use the select tool, or you can simply "copy" from the "edit" menu. Click here for an illustration of the difference that zoom level can have on images pasted into Powerpoint slides.
