Description
The laboratory of Resistance and progression in prostate cancer is accepting application for PhD positions to study the role of epigenetic remodelrs and chromatin dinamics in the acquisition of therapy resistance in late stage prostate cancer.
Our laboratory is member of the Program Against Cancer Therapeutic Resistance and the Cancer Mechanisms and Experimental Therapeutics Department at IDIBELL (www.idibell.cat/en)
The laboratory employs genetically-engineered mouse models of prostate cancer, genomics and systems biology approaches to unravel the mechanisms of progression and resistance to standard of care therapeutics in advanced prostate tumors.
You will:
- Study the chormatin dynamics of prostate cell especification during development.
- Utilize the mouse as a model system.
- Train in the analysis of cancer models, epigenetics and systems biology.
- Work in a collaborative, collegiate environment, where pasion and drive are core values
- Have access to IDIBELL facilities and resources
Duration: Minimum 2 years with possibility of extension
Qualifications
PhD in cancer biology, epigenetics, developmental biology
Pasion, career goals and motivation to solve complex biological questions
Excellent communication skills
Previous knowledge of computational systems biology and bioinformatics is not a requirement but is highly encouraged
