EpiGeneSys Opens the Final Call For Associate Membership!EpiGeneSys is offering around 20 positions of Associate Membership to scientists with an active interest in contributing to this Network of Excellence. Submission deadline for application: 12th April 2013, 17:00 CET 3rd Open Call for Smale-Scale Collaborative Projects OnlineTry your hand at developing an idea for an independent project! This call addresses PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from NoE, RISE1 and Associate Members. Proposals should have an epigenetic and a systems biology element, at least two labs must be involved and one of them must be a member of EpiGeneSys. A panel of reviewers from the network will award at least 1 applicant up to 10,000€ of funding for their collaborative project. Find out here about the successful candidates from the last call. Submission deadline for application: 12th April 2013, 17:00 CET EC Meeting on the Future of Epigenetics in EuropeThe meeting served to give the Commission insight into the latest developments in epigenetic research and discuss the optimal career development for young scientists in order to identify the best strategies for the upcoming Horizon 2020 programme of the European Union. EpiGeneSys was represented by coordinator Geneviève Almouzni and RISE1 members Maria-Elena Torres-Padilla and Sigurd Braun. Together, the three EpiGeneSys delegates stressed the importance of continued support of epigenetic research in Horizon 2020 and put strong emphasis on the idea of a network that promotes multidisciplinarity and offers special initiatives to aid young PIs in their efforts to gain independence and to realize their full potential for creativity and innovation, with the ultimate goal of establishing “a culture for development in epigenetics and beyond”. |
