Applications are invited for a predoctoral researcher position (PhD position) in the lab of Prof. Ann Ehrenhofer-Murray, starting in autumn 2018. The successful candidate will conduct competitive research on the project “Detection and functional characterization of queuosine and m5C modifications in RNA”. The project encompasses methods of epitranscriptomics, molecular biology and biochemistry in fission yeast. This PhD project is part of the DFG priority program SPP1784, which offers lecture series, annual meetings and international conferences. Our group is located at the Humboldt-Universität in central Berlin.


Candidates should hold a Masters degree or equivalent in biology, biochemistry or a related topic with excellent credentials and have experience in molecular biology and biochemistry. Candidates should have an excellent command of written and spoken English. An interest in bioinformatic analysis of genomics data is advantageous. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, creative and self-driven.


Salary is offered according to German employment rules (E13 TV-L HU, 65%). The contract is offered for three years, starting in autumn 2018.
